The PTO system provides OpsCenter users with the ability to manage their PTO schedules. A user can add a PTO schedule a couple different ways depending on how the PTO system is configured. One way to set up the PTO system is unrestricted access to adding PTO schedules. In this situation, any user can access a window where they can create a PTO schedule entry that immediately posts to the vacation calendar. A second way to configure the PTO system is to use a permission based approach. In this situation, only a predefined set of users can approve PTO schedules. When a user wants to add a PTO schedule to the calendar, they must send a PTO request to one of the predefined users that can approve it. That user can approve or deny PTO requests sent to them. An approved PTO request is then automatically posted to the vacation calendar. (See the system controls for details on configuring the PTO system.) When the scheduled PTO time occurs, the user is automatically set to the specified status and a return date will be set as the next business day after the PTO ends. When the PTO time ends, the user is automatically returned to normal status.
